Description:
Tanystropheus, Greek for long-necked one, pronounced Tan-ee-stroh-fee-us, was not a dinosaur but a long necked reptile. They possessed a snap-off tail that would grow back like the modern day lizard. This would help them escape from being eaten from large carnivores.
